Tracy is wife to David and mother to Nick, Ben, Max, and Molly Jane.
Upon graduating from The University of Oklahoma, Mrs. Matheson worked as an elementary school teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia. She also worked as a Mission and Outreach Coordiantor at her church when the family lived in Winter Park, Florida. Most recently she has worked as a Realtor. Her kids call her “Batmom”, a title which suits her well for her current task… momma with a mission.
Molly Jane was her world, her best friend, and her right hand. She was BELOVED by all.
Mrs. Matheson's commitment to Project Beloved: The Molly Jane Mission is steadfast and relentless. She adovacates for sexual assault survivors through education and and collaboration by changing in the conversation about sexual assault and empowering survivors to find their voices.
She leads the Project Beloved organization to create a world where survivors of sexual assault are heard and believed, perpetrators are prosecuted and justice is served.
Project Beloved under Mrs. Matheson's leadership has been suscessful in the passing of the Molly Jane's Law in September 2019. It states that when law enforcement in the state of Texas investigate a case of sexual assault they shall use ViCAP to input information about the reported offender and nature or the offense. The law required all Texas law enforcement to use the ViCAP tools which made them even better at doing their jobs.
